I'm
Julie M. Barber, the owner and designer
of Moonlighter Media. I started designing websites in
high school (over a decade ago), which developed into a
full-on internet addiction. When I'm not working at the
local animal shelter, or walking my dogs around in Downtown
Kalamazoo, I'm online. :)
I started this business for 2
reasons:
First, I'm not gonna lie, we all have bills to pay. This
is my second job and with a mortgage, car, gas prices and
everything going up, there are a lot of expenses in life! I'm
also still trying to clear up my credit that I destroyed when
I was 18 years old and got my first 5 credit
cards (I like to think I've matured since then).
Aside from that I have made a commitment to myself to do
high-quality web design for groups and organizations who might
not otherwise be able to afford it. I've done a few
sites for some non-profit groups, an d
realized the high demand for NON-profits to have access to web
design that doesn't cost a fortune. I feel that
non-profits should be able to keep as much money as they can
for their programs and missions, and that a website should be
a means to reach out to people without taking a chunk out of
their donations that they work so hard for.
I don't have rent to pay in an
office, I don't have employees and I don't have the most
advanced, high-tech equipment. All of that helps me keep
costs down for you. |
